After receiving a degree in International Relations, K. Ann Karlsson spent some time in the U.S. Navy. Among other less exciting jobs, she has stormed a beach with Marines, launched torpedoes from a submarine, and flown in various aircraft with Naval aviators. She once allowed a Navy SEAL to talk her into fast roping (dropping fifty feet to the ground using nothing but her hands, desperately gripping a rope, to stop her fall), which given Ann’s difficulty with heights just goes to show you how good those guys really are...
Even though she found the ratio of men to women in the military wildly favorable, she left the service several years ago to "settle down" with her own personal hero. Together they have traveled the world, lived in Europe and Asia, and returned home often enough to figure out that love really does make the world go ‘round. When she’s not dreaming up hot characters and spicy conflicts for her fiction writing, Ann likes to ride her bike, play tennis and shop for shoes with her two daughters--heroines in the making.
